The patron of Pretoro is San Domenico di Sora, celebrated on the first Sunday of May.
The municipality also holds the Riserva regionale Valle del Foro, the Museo del Lupo, the Chiesa della Madonna della Mazza and the Chiesa di Mirastelle. Legends tell of the image of the Madonna della Mazza found near a tree: brought back to the village, it was found again at the place where it had started; another account tells of a snowfall on a 2 July that prevented the procession, but the Madonna returned alone to the mountains leaving footprints in the snow.
