The patrons of Bisignano are Saint Umile of Bisignano and, as co-patron, Saint Francis of Paola, celebrated on 26 November. The Museum of the Sanctuary of Sant'Umile is dedicated to the first patron.
Despite the suppression of the Minim convent by the French in 1809, the cult and devotion to Saint Francis of Paola remained alive in Bisignano: the saint is celebrated not only on 2 April but also on 14 July, recalling the protection given to residents during the 1767 earthquake. He is also invoked in cases of prolonged drought or torrential rain. The town also holds the Church of Santo Stefano and the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art.
