The patron of Lungro is Saint Nicholas of Myra, called Shën Kolli in the town's Arbëreshë tradition, celebrated on 6 December in the Cattedrale di San Nicola di Mira.
On the two Sundays around 16 July, two Marian processions are held: the earlier one carries the Madonna at dawn from the small church to the cathedral, after a night vigil, while on Saturday evening secular festivities follow, and on Sunday morning a great fair. On 6 November, Saint Leonard is celebrated, chosen by the miners as protector of the Salina di Lungro (salt mine). The town holds the Museo storico della Salina and the Casa della Musica.
