The patrons of San Basile are Saint John the Baptist, whose feast is celebrated on 25 May, and Saint Mary Hodegetria (Santa Maria Odigitria), celebrated after Pentecost; on the Wednesday after Pentecost, in honour of the Madonna della Misericordia, a parade is held with the unique Albanian costume of the area.
At Eastertide (për Pashkët) the «vallje», dances in honour of the hero Skanderbeg, are held, a popular tradition that today, together with the language, risks being lost. The town holds the Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista, the Monastero di Santa Maria Odigitria and the Cappella di Sant'Anna.
