The patron of Morano Calabro is Saint Bernardino of Siena, celebrated on 20 May.
In the days around the patronal feast, the Festa della Bandiera is held annually, over several days, a historical re-enactment of an ancient battle. The church's main altar, finely carved in wood with a rich mother-of-pearl inlay ciborium and a polychrome scagliola antependium of the Capuchin school, is topped by a late-Mannerist altarpiece by Ippolito Borghese. The town also holds the Norman-Swabian Castle.
