The patron saints of Santa Domenica Talao are San Giuseppe (Saint Joseph) and the Madonna del Rosario, celebrated on the first Sunday after 20 July (San Giuseppe) and on the first Sunday of October (Madonna del Rosario).
The patronal feast of San Giuseppe, known as Fera 'a Codda, is the most important event of the village: it is held on the first Sunday after 20 July, with a week of liturgical preparation and a solemn procession through the streets, together with a traditional fair-market in the upper part of the historic centre, in the locality 'A Codda, on Viale Roma. The Madonna del Rosario (Fera 'u Chianu) is celebrated on the first Sunday of October in the lower part of the village, in the locality Piano. San Giuseppe all'Accovata is celebrated on the first Sunday of May in the contrada Accovata, where there is a chapel dedicated to the saint, with a procession that leaves the parish church and reaches the district, accompanied by a very well-attended traditional fair. The International Tyrrhenian Jazz Festival is also held in the village, with international jazz concerts and events in the garden of Palazzo Campagna.
