The patron of Spezzano della Sila is Saint Blaise, celebrated from 1 to 3 February in the Church of San Biagio.
The feast of Saint Francis is, above all others, the feast of Spezzano, and from time immemorial its festivities have always been exceptional: it began on the ninth day before the third Sunday of September, with the loud rolling of drums through the streets of the town, followed the following Saturday by the novena, a cycle of sermons given by great preachers from the region. The feast proper lasted three days, from Saturday to Monday, with popular games. The town also holds the Church of San Pietro.
