One of the patrons of San Giorgio Morgeto is Saint George, celebrated on 23 April with the cultural event «Una rosa, un libro», closely tied to the figure of the martyr saint.
In August, the Festa Medievale is traditionally held, a reenactment spread through the streets of the old town. The town holds the Monumental Church of San Domenico and the Castello di San Giorgio Morgeto, and overlooks the Aspromonte National Park. The town's other patron, Saint James the Greater, is celebrated on 25 July.
