The patron of Guasila is the Assumption of Mary, celebrated on 15 August in the Santuario della Beata Vergine Assunta.
On 13 August, the women of the town dress the statue of the sleeping Virgin in the chapel dedicated to her; the following day she is carried in procession on her gilded bed through the town's streets. On the afternoon of Ferragosto, the Palio di Santa Maria is run, also known as the Palio dei comuni because each horse represents a different comune. The area also holds the Nuraghe Barru and the Church of Nostra Signora d'Itria.
