Saint Berardo, patron still honoured with a candle by the mayor every year

Teramo celebrates Saint Berardo on 19 December; his remains survived the fire that destroyed the city in 1156, and every year, during the mass officiated by the bishop, the mayor still offers a candle to the saint on behalf of the community.
