The patron of Fagnano Castello is Saint Sebastian, celebrated on 20 January. The feast was born in 1656, when the townspeople accepted the proposal of the convent's prior, Don Vincenzo Caputo, to make him patron saint.
Since then, on 20 January, alongside religious and secular celebrations, the year's largest fair was also held, centred on livestock trading. During the Chestnut Fair, free roasted chestnuts are usually served. The town also holds the Museum of Peasant Life and the Church of San Nicola di Bari.
