The patron of Praia a Mare is the Madonna della Grotta, celebrated from 14 to 16 August: the statue is carried in procession through the town each year for three days.
The feast is both religious and secular, since during this period the town fair is also held, and on the evening of 15 August, Praia's young people light bonfires on the beach in honour of the Madonna. In summer, the Praia World Festival is also held, an international ethnic music event lasting a week in the Piazza della Resistenza. The town also holds the Torre di Fiuzzi and the Castello di Fiuzzi.
