Saint Francis of Paola, patron of the ancient feast of the Madonna del Carmelo

The patron saint of Bovalino is Saint Francis of Paola, celebrated on 2 April.

The feast of the Madonna del Carmelo, held on the last Sunday of July, is age-old: the statue, made in 1776, was carved by the Neapolitan sculptor Giuseppe Sarno. In 1986, on the 400th anniversary of the church's construction, special celebrations were held. The town also holds the Church of San Martino and the Church of San Nicola di Bari.
