The patrons of Riace are the physician saints Cosmas and Damian, celebrated from 25 to 27 September at the sanctuary dedicated to them.

Devotees who come from neighbouring towns have the custom of walking to the sanctuary; the two saints are also celebrated in Riace on the second Sunday of May.
