In 1943, Enzo Ferrari relocated his automotive workshop to a town 18 kilometers south of Modena, permanently altering Maranello’s place in global motorsport history. This defining move transformed a modest agricultural hub into the worldwide headquarters of the Ferrari brand and its legendary Formula One racing team, Scuderia Ferrari.
Granted official city status in 2009, Maranello is now home to around 16,600 residents whose local economy intersects heavily with high-performance engineering. The automotive legacy runs deep across the area, supported by historic local enterprises like Carrozzeria Scaglietti, making the town an essential stop for racing enthusiasts.
