The patron saint of Sant'Elpidio a Mare is Saint Elpidius the Abbot, celebrated on 2 September in the church dedicated to him.
On the second Sunday of August, the Contesa del Secchio is held, born in 1953 and considered the oldest historical event in the Marche region. In the church of Sant'Elpidio Abate, the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament operated from 1550, under a bull of Pope Julius III, organising Good Friday processions and monthly eucharistic processions. The town also holds the Abbey of Santa Croce al Chienti and the Sanctuary of the Madonna degli Angeli.
