Feast of Saint Patrick
📅 Every year, on 17 March
On 17 March Torre San Patrizio celebrates its patron Saint Patrick, whose name also appears in the municipality's name; the town has the Teatro Galletti de Cadilhac.
In Roman times it was Turris Patritia, a country village; but from the year one thousand the documents call it Collis Sancti Patritii, the hill of Saint Patrick, and so an Irish saint became the patron of a village in the Marche. In 1934, digging, Picene tombs of the seventh and sixth centuries before Christ came to light.
The village sided with the Ghibellines in a Guelph March, and paid for it: on the twenty-fifth of September 1301 the rector of the March, nephew of Pope Boniface VIII, fined the podestà of Torre San Patrizio a thousand silver marks. In December 1414 a Malatesta, having taken Rapagnano, camped on the Ete Morto and took this castle too. From here, much later, Felipe Rutini left for Argentina, where he set about making wine.
