The patron of San Basilio is Saint Peter, celebrated on 29 June, at the end of the month. The town's most important events concern 2 January, with the feast of San Basilio; around 16 January Saint Anthony the Abbot and Saint Sebastian are celebrated, with liturgical services and a great bonfire, locally called «su foghidoni»; Saint Greca and Saint Isidore are also celebrated.
The first Sunday of June is the feast of Saint Barbara, patroness of miners, with a solemn procession in the pine-wood park; on 14 June there is the summer feast of San Basilio. Also important is the sheep sagra, in honour of Saint John the Baptist, protector of shepherds. In early February «Sa cursa de sa pudda» takes place, a competition between horsemen. The municipality also holds the Terme Romane.
