The patron of Villacidro is Saint Barbara, celebrated on 4 December.
For the feast of Saint Anthony, protector of animals, the celebration closes on the parish church square, where animals are blessed; after the solemn Mass, the organizing committee distributes blessed bread to the population. June brings the Cherry Festival, while the first Sunday of August celebrates Saint Sisinnius of Leni. On 31 December, for the ancient custom of Su Trigu Cotu, people go from house to house distributing cooked wheat as a wish of good fortune for the new year. The town holds the Church of Sant'Antonio and the Church of San Sisinnio, as well as the Sa Spendula waterfall.
