The patron saint of Barga is Saint Christopher, celebrated on 25 July.
In the second half of July, Live in Barga is held, also known as the Festa del Centro Storico or Festa delle Piazzette, a genuine live music festival. In the second half of August, instead, the famous Barga Jazz Festival is held, an international competition that each year draws jazz enthusiasts from across Italy and beyond. In September, in the hamlet of Filecchio, the Polenta e Uccelli fair is held. The town also holds the Church of San Francesco and the Pascoli house-museum.
