The patron saint of Portogruaro is Saint Andrew the Apostle, celebrated on 30 November.
Since the 1980s, a lively and intense musical scene has developed in the town, culminating in the Portogruaro International Music Festival «Estate Musicale», held from the second half of August to the first half of September, promoted by the Fondazione Musicale Santa Cecilia. Since 2005, the small festival of poetry and nocturnal arts «Notturni Di_versi» has also been held between June and July, while since 2021 the town has hosted PortoImmaginario, a literature festival for children and young people. Among the town's landmarks are the cathedral, the Abbey of Summaga and the church of Santa Maria della Purificazione.
