The patron of Montebello Vicentino is Saint John, celebrated on 24 June.
The town keeps in its provostal church a statue of the seated Virgin with the Child on her lap, carved entirely from linden wood. It was carried in procession for the first time on 29 July 1793 because of a severe drought, and that very evening the longed-for rain fell; on that occasion the town dressed itself for celebration, with flowers, green arches and multicoloured torches in the evening, and the provost proposed renewing the procession every five years, giving rise to the Festa Quinquennale della Madonna. The town also holds the Castello dei Maltraverso.
