The patron saint of Francavilla al Mare is Saint Franco the Hermit, a Basilian monk who lived between the 10th and 11th centuries, celebrated on 18 August with a festive programme starting as early as the 15th, the feast of Ferragosto.
The town also holds the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, that of San Rocco and the parish church of Santi Angeli Custodi. Among the town's places of interest are also the Museo Michetti and the Museo Navale Masci.
