On 8 May every year Ortona dei Marsi celebrates the patronal feast in honour of Saint Generosus, patron of the municipality.
The typical products of its territory are pulses, honey and the apple of the Giovenco valley, recognised among the traditional agri-food products of Abruzzo; the town holds the Collegiata di San Giovanni Battista, the Castello di Ortona dei Marsi and the Santuario della Madonna della Pietà.
