The patrons of Pratola Peligna are Saint Peter of Morrone, Pope Celestine V, and Our Lady of Liberty, celebrated on the first Sunday of May in the Church of San Pietro.
The celebrations begin on the preceding Friday, with the arrival of the company from Gioia dei Marsi, a group that makes the pilgrimage between the two towns on foot along mountain paths and passes. On Sunday a large procession is held through the town's streets, and the following weekend the Ottavario is celebrated, with civic and recreational events too. The shrine was damaged by an earthquake. The town also holds the Church of the Trinità and the Museum of Rural Civilisation.
