The old village lies at the bottom of a hollow, reached by a narrow, steep road. After the war it was left, for reasons of hygiene and because there was no room, and in the nineteen fifties another was built on the hill above: Vicoli Nuova, a line of houses along the provincial road. Since 2011 the old one is being put back on its feet.
Of the castle, down in the old village, two stone bastions remain and a pointed doorway, inside a house. The first document is of 1112: the bishop of Penne gives it to the abbot of the monastery of Carpineto. In the Le Pietre district stands the church of the Madonna of the Boars: it is said to have been built where the Virgin saved a pilgrim from a wild boar, near a ravine.
