The patron of Colonnella is Saint Michael the Archangel, celebrated on 8 May as the patronal feast.
On the second Sunday of July, the Festa di Maria Santissima del Suffragio is held, also called Festa dei Manoppi, for time immemorial the most deeply felt religious feast of the Colonnella people. On the last Sunday of February, instead, the feast of Saint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows is celebrated, with a procession carrying the saint's relics and statue through the town's streets, a devotion strongly felt throughout Abruzzo. The town also holds the Church of Santissimi Cipriano e Giustina.
