Diamante celebrates the Immaculate Conception on 8 December and 12 August; the patron's statue, about two metres tall and carved from an olive trunk, was donated to the basilica by Prince Tiberio Carafa, in a town now known for its murals.

The patron saint of Diamante is the Immaculate Conception, celebrated on 8 December and 12 August. The basilica dedicated to her was built in the 17th century and restored in 1787 and 1880: Prince Tiberio Carafa donated to the new church the monumental statue of the Immaculate Conception, about two metres tall and carved from an olive trunk.

Diamante, at the centre of the Riviera dei Cedri, is now famous for its murals: in 1981, on the initiative of the painter Nani Razetti and the municipal administration led by Mayor Evasio Pascale, eighty-five artists from around the world painted the alley walls of Diamante's fishing village and nearby Cirella. In 2021, for the initiative's fortieth anniversary, the Murales40 project brought new works, including one by the artist Jorit, and the restoration of some historic 1981 murals. The hamlet of Cirella, now a seaside resort that also holds one of Calabria's only two islands, stands on the remains of the ancient Magna Graecia city of Cerillae.
