The patroness of Sant'Agata di Esaro is Saint Agatha, celebrated on 5 February; the saint's name also appears in that of the municipality, which has 1,990 inhabitants in the province of Cosenza.
In a palazzo in the historic centre, the historical museum of knowledge and taste displays the typical costume of the local woman of the past, a wide range of tools and implements once used by local craftsmen, and twentieth-century objects.
