The traditions of Melicuccà are tied above all to religious celebrations, and the most important is the feast of Saint John the Baptist, patron of the town, held on 23 and 24 June with the solemn procession of the saint's statue through the streets of the town.
The Catholic celebrations of the year are: San Giuseppe, on 19 March; the Affruntata, on Easter Sunday; Saint Anthony of Padua, on 13 June; Maria Santissima Assunta, on 12 August; Our Lady of Lourdes, on the last Sunday of August; Saint Elias the Cave-dweller, on 11 September; Maria Santissima del Rosario, on the first Sunday of October.
