The patron saint of Sant'Anastasia is Saint Francis Xavier, celebrated on 3 December with the patronal feast whose cult is centred on the church of Santa Maria la Nova, the main church of the town centre: the present building dates from 1546 and stands on the site of an earlier religious construction of medieval origin.
About a kilometre from the town centre stands the Sanctuary of the Madonna dell'Arco, the second most important sanctuary in Campania, the yearly destination on Easter Monday of the traditional pilgrimage of the fujenti or battenti. Every Christmas Eve, a live nativity scene is also held through the streets of the historic centre, organised by the parish of Sant'Antonio and closing with the Nativity scene in Piazza San Francesco.
