The patron of Atena Lucana is Saint Blaise, celebrated on 3 February.
In the sacristy of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore is a precious fresco depicting the Christus patiens (suffering Christ). The high altar, which separates the central nave from the seventeenth-century choir, was made in 1861 by the Salerno marble workers Agnello and Fiorentino Conforti. The town also holds the Archaeological Museum, the Shrine of La Colomba and the Church of San Michele Arcangelo.
