The patron of San Secondo Parmense is the Annunciation of Mary, celebrated on 25 March.
The Palio delle Contrade is disputed annually among the districts of San Secondo, who compete by re-enacting the historic marriage of Count Pier Maria III de' Rossi with Camilla Gonzaga. The August fair of the Spalla di San Secondo (cooked pork shoulder) and Fortanina wine originates from a millennia-old tradition, whose origins probably predate the founding of the town itself. The town also holds the Rocca dei Rossi and the Pieve di San Genesio.
