The patron saints of Muggia are Saints John and Paul, celebrated on 26 June.
The modern Carnival, institutionalized in 1954 by mayor Giordano Pacco, is organized as a prize contest for floats and costumed groups, called for by the dedicated organizing committee, that parade through the town's streets. The town holds the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta and the Church of San Rocco, as well as the Borgo Muggia Vecchia.
