On 10 August processions and festivities take place for the patron saint of Picinisco, San Lorenzo (Saint Lawrence); on 9 and 10 August the Pastorizia in Festival is also held, an ethno-musical event devoted to rediscovering the flavours and instruments of local tradition.
The village calendar includes: on Good Friday two historic separate processions, of men and of women, cross the village carrying on their shoulders the statues of the Madonna Addolorata and of the dead Christ; at Corpus Domini there is the historic infiorata (flower carpet) through the streets of the village; on 16 August San Rocco is celebrated with a procession; on 19 August the festa dell'emigrante (emigrants' festival) pays homage to all the Picinisco communities scattered around the world; on 20 and 21 August Santa Maria Assunta and the Madonna di Canneto are celebrated, with processions and a pilgrimage; on the third Sunday of September there is «Soavità d'autunno», a day devoted to mushrooms, with folk games, mycology lessons and dances. Among the cultural awards is the Premio «L'Italia di D.H. Lawrence», dedicated to the famous English writer.
