The patron of Allumiere is the Assumption of Mary into Heaven, celebrated on 15 August in the church dedicated to her.
On the first Sunday after 15 August, the Palio delle Contrade of Allumiere is raced, a traditional event held every year since 1965 with donkeys in place of horses, as local tradition dictates. The territory also holds the archaeological site of Poggio Elceto and the Bandita Grande necropolis.
