The patron of Tivoli is Saint Lawrence and his day falls on 10 August, the night all Italy associates with him.
The rest of the year the town keeps a busy calendar: the Tiburtine Carnival with its floats and masks, the Fiera di San Giuseppe on 19 March, the procession of the Dead Christ on Good Friday and, on the first Sunday of May, the procession of the Madonna di Quintiliolo — for which the Contrada Via Maggiore lays a carpet of flowers along the street each year.
