San Siro is a comune of 2003, born from the merger of Sant'Abbondio and Santa Maria Rezzonico, but the name is six centuries older: already in the fourteenth century there was the community of San Siro Monte Rezzonico, headquarters of the Della Torre di Rezzonico, the family that three centuries later would give the Church Pope Clement XIII. The coat of arms, granted in 2015, puts the pieces back together: two stars for the two original settlements, a single-span bridge for Sant'Abbondio, a red tower for the castle of Rezzonico and for the tower of Villa La Gaeta, neo-Gothic, completed in 1921.

On the Renaissance portal of the church of Santa Maria, in Musso marble and the work of the Rodari school, among the naturalistic high-relief decorations there is a melusine: a mermaid on the door of a fifteenth-century church. Inside there are paintings by Sigismondo de Magistris, by Michelangelo Carminati, by Isidoro Bianchi. A little further on, above the mouth of the tunnel, stand the ruins of a tower that here they call Castelasc: in 1612 it was the scene of the murder of the local squire Antonio de Ficanis. And in the frazione of Soriano there is an archaeological park of rock carvings.
