The patron saint of Casalmaggiore is Saint Charles Borromeo, celebrated on 4 November; Saint Leonard is patron of the Borgo district.
Casalmaggiore is home to two music festivals, one baroque and the other classical: Venetia Picciola, held between late April and early May, is dedicated to rediscovering and promoting the artistic, especially musical, production of the area. The town also holds the Cathedral of Casalmaggiore and the Diotti Museum, as well as the Convent of Santa Chiara.
