The municipality is called Persico Dosimo, but the most populous village is Persichello, which does not appear in the name; the town hall is at Dosimo, and Persico exists on its own account. The body was born in 1928 from the merger of Carpaneta with Dosimo and of Persico, and other names had already been lost in the territory: from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century there was the municipality of Acqualunga Sant'Abbondio, aggregated from 1757. The hamlet of Quistro is older than all of them: in the tenth century it was a possession of the monks of Nonantola.
The A21 motorway crosses the municipality but has no exit within its boundaries, and the road that counts remains the provincial one that reaches Cremona in seven kilometres. Alongside the main road runs the Cavo Robecco, a channel dug in the seventeenth century through a countryside with no watercourses of any importance. At Dosimo stands villa Calciati Crotti, built around the eighteenth century for the Gerenzani, with a court of honour and a private chapel of 1709. Three thousand three hundred and seventy-two inhabitants in the province of Cremona.
