The patron of Sabbioneta is Saint Sebastian, celebrated on 20 January.
The town, an ideal Renaissance city built by the Gonzaga family, holds the Palazzo Ducale, the Galleria degli Antichi, the Palazzo del Giardino and its city walls, as well as the Church of Santa Maria Assunta.
