The patron saint of Porto Recanati is Saint John the Baptist, celebrated on 29 August in the Church of San Giovanni Battista.
On the evening of Good Friday, the «Bara de Notte» is held, the traditional procession with the imposing canopy of the Dead Christ, held uninterruptedly since 1713. On the second Sunday of July, instead, the Festa del mare is held, with the boats of the Porto Recanati fishing fleet parading in solemn procession, led by the one chosen to carry the painting of the Madonna del Soccorso. The town also holds the Abbey of Santa Maria in Potenza and the archaeological area of Potentia.
