The patrons of Andria are Saint Richard and the Madonna dei Miracoli, celebrated on the third Sunday of September.
The city owes the saint a second appointment as well. In 1438 the body of Saint Richard of England, protector of Andria, was found again after going missing during a siege: in memory of that recovery the April Fair was established, and it is still held today.
