The patron saint of Selargius is the Blessed Virgin of the Assumption, celebrated on 15 August in the church named after her. Also deeply felt is the feast of Saint Lussorio, which in recent years has fallen in the last ten days of August and is venerated in the church of the same name in the town.
Selargius is also known for the «Selargius wedding», or «sa coja», the most important and heartfelt event held in town, re-enacting the ancient wedding rites of local tradition. The municipal territory also holds the Aragonese Prison and the archaeological site of Su Coddu.
