The patroness of Riesi is Our Lady of the Chain, celebrated on the second Sunday of September with folk rites and processions. The town's religious calendar is rich in other observances: the feast of Saint John Bosco on 31 January, that of Saint Joseph on 19 March and again on the last Sunday of July, with processions, altars and communal tables, and the feast of the Immaculate Conception on 8 December.
Riesi preserves the memory of its mining past in the Trabia Tallarita sulphur mine museum and in the mining complex of the same name, while the Villaggio Monte degli Ulivi, founded in the post-war period, and the local Waldensian church bear witness to a more recent and plural religious history.
