The patroness of Belpasso is Saint Lucy, celebrated on 13 December and the first Sunday of August. From 12 to 14 December the feast takes place with the "tredicina" novena, the songs of the "Giovani Cantanti" and the Carri di Santa Lucia: Baroque scenic machines that originated in the 19th century, recognised among the intangible heritage of the Sicilian Region, up to 15 metres tall and culminating in the Apoteosi della Gloria, where a girl portrays the saint. Five floats, one for each of the town's historic quarters — Matrice, Sant'Antonio, Purgatorio, San Rocco and Borrello — are "cracked open" to the public on the nights of 11 and 12 December; two of them reopen on the night of the 13th, and a further general opening takes place in August, on the occasion of the saint's secondary patronage.
On 27 December 2024, on the occasion of the visit of Saint Lucy's body to Belpasso, the entrance of the relics into the town was accompanied by a procession of the «Lucie», the women who over the years have played the role of the saint on the floats.
