"Scurata" is Sicilian for nightfall, and the festival takes both its name and its timetable from it: every show is scheduled for sunset, facing the Stagnone lagoon. It started out among the Genna salt pans and mixes classical theatre with world music, jazz and singer-songwriters.
The 2026 edition — the ninth — lines up 21 evenings between 25 July and 6 September. Most of the bill plays at Villa Genna, overlooking the nature reserve, with guests including Donatella Finocchiaro, Mariano Rigillo and Agricantus; the "peri peri" formula adds stops in Mazara del Vallo, Salemi and Santa Ninfa, while the opening and closing happen at dawn on Levanzo and Marettimo.
The whole operation is run by MAC, the Marsala Arts Center, with tickets sold online and in town.
