The patron of Gais is Saint John the Evangelist, celebrated on 27 December in the Church of San Giovanni Evangelista.
The town holds three castles, Castel Neuhaus, the Castello di Chela and the Castello di Uttenheim, and the Church of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. It also hosts the Feuerwehrhelmmuseum, a museum dedicated to firefighters' helmets.
