Pieve del Grappa

Here too the name came second. Crespano del Grappa and Paderno del Grappa, merging in 2019, had chosen by survey to call themselves Montegrappa; the neighbouring municipalities protested, because the mountain belongs to everyone and several of them already have del Grappa in their names. Of the alternatives left in the ranking the first was chosen: Pieve del Grappa.

The municipality stays divided in another way as well: Crespano belongs to the diocese of Padua, Paderno and Fietta to that of Treviso. The coat of arms granted in 2020 holds the pieces together: the military memorial of Cima Grappa, the lion of Saint Mark that came from the arms of Crespano and the roses that were in those of Paderno. The territory climbs from the plain to the one thousand seven hundred and seventy-five metres of the summit.
