The celebrations in honour of Acciano's protectors, Saint Anthony of Padua and Saint Petronilla, patroness of the municipality, the «Feste di Maggio» (May Festivals), take place on 30 and 31 May with religious and civil celebrations organised by the festival committee, appointed annually; on the afternoon of the 30th and the morning of the 31st the people go to the sanctuary for vespers and the solemn celebrations.
Saint Erasmus, protector of the communities of Beffi and Succiano, is celebrated on 2 June with two processions that set out early in the morning to reach the Hermitage in the mountains: after historic disputes over the right to pass and celebrate first, the Archdiocesan Curia of L'Aquila decreed precedence for the parish of Beffi and since the 1980s a single service has been held for both communities; the only remaining contest is over the length and intensity of the fireworks when the processions return to their respective villages.
